Bourges

The main attraction is of course the UNESCO world heritage site, which dates back to 1200, and is a stunning example of French gothic architecture. With two aisles and one of the highest naives of any cathedral in the world, this is a cathedral to visit. Also worth a visit are the allotment gardens of Marais, which are divided by canals, and a walk around the site will take around 2 hours, but is well worth the time.

Chambord

Home to the Chateau de Chambord, Chambord is a town in the Loire region and is arguably one of the finest chateau found anywhere inFrance. Open daily, the chateau is the second most visited in the country, and even has a 3d movie room on the ground floor. Set in around 2,500 acres of gorgeous land, you can hire a bike and enjoy a picnic in the grounds, now a designated wildlife park, or enjoy the horse show, twice daily at the chateaus stables.
