You can fly to a number of different airports inFrance,SwitzerlandandItalyand then make your way up the mountains, where you can find parking at your chalet, or at the excellent Parking du Mont Blanc which only costs around £25 for the whole week.

Aiguille du Midi
If you like views, then this is arguably one of the best in the world. A needle of rock which stands nearly 4000m tall, it’s one of the most famous landmarks inChamonixand is used by skiers and climbers to get their bearings. From the top, you can see the entire French, Swiss and Italian mountain range on a clear day, and you can enjoy fantastic views ofFrancestallest mountain,Mont Blancjust five miles away.
Telepherique de l’Aiguille de Midi
Linking theChamonixresort with the Aiguille du Midi, this stunning cable car gives you views to savour. If you’re a fan of hiking and mountain walks it’s also a great way to get up into the mountains and to begin your hikes, with lots of trails and mountain paths leading away from the halfway point, some 2317 meters up the slope. It’s very popular in the summer so you may want to pre book, and even in the warm summer months it rarely get’s above freezing so bring a coat.
Snowshoes
If you want to go and explore the virgin snow and forests you’ll need a pair of snowshoes. Theres a company inChamonixcalled Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix who will arrange tours throughout the day, and evening romantic tours under the moon and stars at night, and will provide you dinner and transport as part of the deal.
