Car Hire in Cyprus

Cyprus appeals to everyone, from lovers of archaeology and ancient history to those who just love golden beaches and soaking up the sun.

Cyprus Car Hire

If you are travelling with young children then be sure to check out the beach at Coral Bay. There are some smaller, quieter coves and sandy bays around Paphos too, with the atmospheric Upper Town proving to be a popular tourist destination in the old capital.

Cyprus can get pretty hot in the summer, and for many there is no better place to escape the heat than in the Troodos Mountains.

By hiring a car you’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful slopes and forests, the views and the cool eucalyptus and pine-scented air – all at your own pace. Or if you’re feeling fit and adventurous, why not rent a mountain bike.

There’s no better way to end the day than in a traditional taverna. Order Meze if you want to try some authentic Cypriot cuisine, and share endless plates of delicious local dishes like grilled haloumi, stuffed vine leaves and smoked pork.

Best places to visit when renting a car in Cyprus

You’ll want to make the most of your hire car when travelling around Cyprus, so here are some of the best destination and resorts that are well worth a visit during your stay.

Coral Bay

Tucked away 13km south of Paphos lies the peaceful resort of Coral Bay. Surrounded by picturesque scenery and blessed with one of the finest Blue Flag beaches in the area, along with a good selection of shops, lovely restaurants and an array of tavernas with a low-key night-life, this resort has plenty to offer.

Nissi Bay

Nissi Bay is one of the finest sandy beaches in Cyprus and is located a few kilometres west of the harbour at Ayia Napa. It is popular with families, groups and couples who like a lively night life and atmosphere both on the beach and in resort, with plenty of water sports and a good choice of bars and restaurants.

Pernera

Located on the outskirts of Protaras, Pernera has developed over the years into a coastal resort, with its own distinct identity and charm. It’s an ideal choice for a beach holiday as three attractive, small sandy beaches all lie within 1km of the resort centre, where a good selection of bars, restaurants and shops can be found, as well as a small fishing harbour.

Paphos

Once the capital of Cyprus, this lush and colourful resort also offers quiet coves and sandy bays. The town’s market is held in Old Paphos where many historical sites mingle with the modern part of town, known as Kato Paphos. Here you’ll find the harbour with its inviting tavernas, fish restaurants, clubs and bars.

Protaras

Protaras is a popular family resort offering the finest beaches in Cyprus. Seperated by lush, rugged countryside, holiday accommodation stretches for 16km. Shops, bars, restaurants and night-life are the focus in the ‘mini-centres’ of Fig Tree Bay and Pernera beach, with Ayia Napa easily reached by car, taxi or local bus, and there are nature trails at Cape Greco.
