Car Hire in Tenerife

Tenerife offers visitors a terrific choice of beaches – black volcanic sand at Los Gigantes, golden beaches at Los Cristianos and Las Teresitas which is pure Saharan desert sand – it’s spectacular! Most of the beaches have good facilities, and you can do water sports in many of the larger resorts.

Playa de las Américas

There are eight main beaches in total, all of them backed by a string of bars an restaurants, a choice of water sports and a popular water park, so there’s something for everyone in this lively holiday hotspot no matter where your interests lie.

Puerto de la Cruz

The Canaries’ earliest tourist centre, Puerto de la Cruz has offered relaxation as far back as the nineteenth century. Three small beaches of black sand and an eight-acre lido with seawater pools and fountains are main attractions; there’s also the famous Loro Parque. Please note: sea currents are strong therefore sea bathing is only recommended for strong swimmers.

Puerto de Santiago

The small hilly resort of Puerto de Santiago provides a fantastic setting for a relaxing holiday. Santiago is a charming village with nearby marina, small rocky coves and spectacular views of the Los Gigantes cliffs offering a good choice of bars, restaurants, open-air cafés and shops.

Los Cristianos

Relaxing Los Cristianos has a small centre with a charming square and a rocky coastline. Daily activity focuses around a promenade and is dotted with pavement cafés. The resort boasts a shelving man-made beach of golden sand which attracts holidaymakers and locals alike and overlooks a small harbour.

Costa Adeje

Costa Adeje is made up of three popular resort areas – San Eugenio, Torviscas and Fanabe. Each area has its own sandy beach and a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. The attractive marina of Puerto Colon is a perfect setting for a relaxing stroll or simply watch the world go by in one of the many bars or eateries.

Playa Paraiso

Located on the south western coast, Playa Paraiso is nestled in coves and surrounded by dramatic cliffs and banana plantations. This small fishing village is a quiet place and enjoys activities such as scuba diving and breathtaking walks.

Exploring further gives you the chance to experience the genuine Spanish fish restaurants of Playa San Juan and Alcala harbours.

Los Gigantes

Dominated by the spectacular cliffs of Tenerife’s west coast, the small hilly resort of Los Gigantes provides the perfect setting for a relaxing holiday. The resort offers a selection of bars and restaurants and is one of the most stunning areas of natural beauty in the Canaries.

Los Abrigos

Los Abrigos is a pretty, traditional fishing village, which lies to the south of Tenerife. Displaying a far quieter side to the island than most tourists experience, Los Abrigos is well known for the idyllic harbour which provides so much to the village. Playa de la Arena
